Sustainability plan heads to City Council; public comment period closes Sept. 9

The City of Oregon Sustainability Ad Hoc Committee on Sept. 9 confirmed that its draft sustainability plan will be presented to the City Council on Sept. 24, 2024, and reminded the public that the comment period closes that day. Committee member Lauren Kleve told the group the public comment period "ends today," calling it the last chance for changes before council review.
The committee discussed several last-minute edits to be incorporated before the council presentation, including recommendations submitted by member Steve Rypkema and the addition of online resources so documents can be updated as needed. No substantive votes on policy changes were taken at the Sept. 9 meeting; the committee approved routine minutes from Aug. 12, 2024, and will forward the draft plan and any compiled comments to City Council for its review on Sept. 24.
