The council approved a commercial lease subsidy grant and adopted Ordinance 2024-011, an economic-development agreement between the City of Oregon, Jen's Artisan Breads LTD, and Jennifer Koertner.
City Manager Darin DeHaan told the council the lease-subsidy application had been unanimously approved by the subcommittee. The motions passed with Council Member Terry Schuster moving to approve the grant and later Tim Krug moving the ordinance; Mayor Ken Williams abstained on both votes. The council described the actions as part of downtown business support and façade enhancements in the 4th Street corridor.
Council directed the usual implementation steps through the city’s economic-development and legal channels.
