Weimar ISD authorizes roof replacements, permits up to $650,000 from fund balance

After reviewing insurance-related repair options presented by Matt Williams of Armko, the Weimar ISD Board selected Vogler Sheet Metal to replace the elementary school roof and F W Walton to replace the high school and special services building roofs.
Trustees authorized the superintendent to negotiate and execute contracts, coordinate with the district's insurance carrier and project professionals, and approved using available district fund balance not to exceed $650,000 to pay the insurance deductible and offset any difference between total project cost and insurance proceeds, subject to law and policy. The motion, moved by Joni VanHouten and seconded by Jeremy Maupin, passed unanimously.
