George Castruis said Express will produce month-by-month campaigns explaining specific screening tests, eligibility and clinical indications, and will have Dr. Milanick review patient questionnaires to determine appropriateness for tests.
"If you have strong family history or you have clinical indications that you may have plaque in your arteries, then doctor Milanick reviews that questionnaire, and we say, hey. Would you like this test? We'll go ahead and write the prescription. Come on in and get it. No charge," Castruis said. He said the provider has shared clinical algorithms (including examples from NICE in the U.K.) and will retrain local providers on new workflows.
Why it matters: Provider-led education can change how primary-care physicians order tests and how patients access specialty imaging. The podcast did not include local primary-care physicians, hospital or county clinical leadership to confirm planned collaborations or algorithm adoption.
