Bill Nichols, the county's IT director, told the Fiscal Court the preferred Microsoft procurement (via ProTech) came in roughly $2,000 below the $45,000 budgeted amount, with the final figure around $43,000.
"I did manage to bring it in $2,000 cheaper than I budgeted for," Nichols said. A magistrate moved to approve the ProTech purchase and the court voted in favor. Nichols said Microsoft products are provided through a preferred-vendor arrangement and that the county had previously trialed other platforms before choosing the current vendor.
