The Boyle County Fiscal Court approved several public-works contracts during its Aug. 10 meeting as it moves to complete facilities and utility work.
Mark Gordon presented bids for a fence enclosing the Allen Springs convenience center and recommended the contractor who installed a previous section; he said one quote from Elite Agronomics was "$23,391." The court voted to accept a lower bid and proceed. Gordon also presented Wiley Electric bids to rewire the public‑works building ($36,008.81) and to replace an obsolete overhead three‑phase service with underground infrastructure ($18,020.09); both items were approved. Discussion noted the work brings service up to state code and will include a labelled breaker box.
Gordon reported he had three quotes to install water and sewer service to the building and recommended a local company with a combined bid in the low‑$11,300 range; the court approved that recommendation. He added the office interior is framed, plumbing and electric are roughed in and inspectors have cleared those stages; HVAC permitting was recently secured and he expects the builder to finish within about a month.
