Kanab City adopted Ordinance 6-2-26 O on June 23, updating the employee wage and salary schedule for Fiscal Year 2027. City staff proposed a 2.9% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) to salary ranges, eligibility for merit-based increases up to 3.0% and specific revisions to fire-department pay ranges to reflect certifications and responsibilities.
Peter Getzinger addressed the council during the public hearing to thank the council for the public safety wage study and the increases to public-safety salaries. Following discussion, Councilmember Heaton moved to approve the ordinance and Councilmember Banks seconded; the ordinance was adopted with recorded affirmative votes and one absent member.
