Student Board Member Wynter Jarus updated the board on recent student activities, saying, "Mrs. Brown’s Leadership Class put together the Spartan Race for the K-6 Students." Jarus also reported on prom attendance, the After Prom Party, the Kennedy Columbus Softball Tournament ceremony, and selection of Class Day speakers.
Principals and the special education director reported operational items: computer-based state testing for science, math and English was reported as successful; the After Prom Party awarded over $9,000 in prizes; Mrs. Adams reported 47 remaining IEP meetings and increased student participation in the process; and the UPK program enrollment stood at 10 students. The board and staff encouraged community turnout for the May 19 budget vote and noted upcoming concerts and no-school dates.
