Board approves hires, tenure and coaching appointments

The Chazy Union Free School District Board approved several personnel items after executive session. The board approved Sarah Poirier as the K–6 General Music and 4–12 Chorus Music Teacher at Step 3, salary $52,613.00, effective July 1, 2026. The motion carried unanimously.
The board also approved tenure in the K–12 Counselor/Social Worker tenure area for Lena Tregan; approved Chris Demers as a volunteer assistant varsity baseball coach (Demers abstained on that vote); approved Trevor Lang as the 7–12 Math Teacher at Step 3+30, salary $54,594.00, effective July 1, 2026; and set a per-diem substitute rate of $150/day for Poirier and Lang. All personnel motions were recorded in the minutes and the votes are reflected as carried where noted.
