Dr. Bryce Creamer and Dr. Rachel Roberts demonstrated passive and active mid-back extension and rotation exercises designed to free the thoracic spine and improve shoulder reach during swings. They showed a chair-based passive chest-drop and a wall-based active extension for safer range-of-motion work.
"I know a lot of people, sit down when we read, when we look at our phone. We get a lot of kind of roundedness right here," Dr. Creamer said, urging attendees to work on extension and rotation so shoulders can move more freely. The presenters recommended wall-based rotational work to limit hip substitution and increase true thoracic rotation.
