Wes Eversole, the district's construction project specialist, told the Board that a minor change to an Oncor easement originally approved in November 2024 is required to avoid damage to a large oak tree on the south side of Lake Dallas High School.
Ginger Collier moved to approve the modified easement; Scott Baird seconded. The Board approved the easement modification on a 7–0 vote. No additional funding or changes to the CATE building scope were reported; the easement will supersede the prior easement approved by the Board in November 2024.
The action allows Oncor Electric Delivery Company to install and maintain the electrical infrastructure needed to supply power to the new CATE building, subject to the modification protecting the identified tree.
