At the start of its April 8 meeting, the La Porte ISD Board of Trustees heard a first-grade performance from Jennie Reid Elementary students led by music teacher Jennifer Arisco and recognized students who placed at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Art Show and La Porte High School athletes who advanced to the State Powerlifting Championships.
The Board also recognized LyondellBasell Bayport Choate as a Partners in Education donor for providing 30 TI-84 CE calculators, valued at $4,000, to the La Porte High School math program and noted the company's ongoing partnership with Bayshore Elementary.
Trustees highlighted outstanding student and staff performance during the recognitions portion of the agenda; no board action was required for these recognitions beyond acknowledgement.
