La Porte ISD board approves consent agenda, declares unopposed trustees elected and cancels May election

At its March 11 meeting the La Porte ISD Board of Trustees approved a broad consent agenda, adopted Resolution No. 2025-03 declaring unopposed trustee candidates elected and canceling the May 3, 2025 election, and approved a budget amendment; all motions passed unanimously, 7–0.
The La Porte Independent School District Board of Trustees approved its consent agenda on March 11, 2025, voting 7–0 to adopt a package of routine items that included minutes, principal reports, financial statements and personnel recommendations. Trustee Russell Schoppe moved to approve the consent agenda, and Trustee Mason Peres seconded; the motion passed by a vote of 7 to 0.
Included in the consent agenda was Resolution No. 2025-03, "Declaring Unopposed Candidates Elected and Canceling the May 3, 2025 General Trustee Election," which the board adopted as part of the package. The consent list also included a budget amendment, approval of purchase orders such as library books, and an interlocal printing services agreement with Pasadena ISD. The board recorded no dissenting votes on any consent items.
