Selectboard moves to update workplace-safety compliance books and training after MMA audit findings

A board member said the town failed an earlier Department of Labor inspection and stressed the need to decentralize reporting and provide OSHA training; the group agreed to require department heads to be notified of injuries and to send at least one staff member from each department to training. "It really is a safety net," one member said of the manual, and the board asked staff to finalize and circulate the documents for employees to review and sign.
