The board discussed issuing an RFP for a full revaluation—expected in two to three years—and also approved posting an auditor RFP to look for a timelier and more cost-effective auditing firm. Members said quarterly reviews might capture market changes between full revaluations and agreed to consult MMA and the assessor (Roger) when he appears on Sept. 2.
Residents raised questions about the assessor’s contract and whether deed and registry-of-deeds information had been entered into map-and-lot records; staff explained that Roger processes deeds and that some older purchases may not be digitized. Chair and staff said they will review the assessor contract and file records and post a request for proposals for auditing services with an extended response period.
