Levelland ISD board approves 3.6% CPI increase to Sodexo meal rates for 2025–26

The Levelland ISD Board of Trustees on May 19 approved a CPI-based amendment to its food service contract with Sodexo Food Services that raises fixed per-meal rates for the 2025–26 school year. Acting Superintendent Rodney Caddell introduced Steve Croyle, Sodexo food manager for LISD, who explained the change to trustees.
Steve Croyle said the district’s five-year Sodexo contract began July 1, 2021, and expires June 30, 2026, and that the agreement calls for a CPI increase in the form of a renewal amendment for the first four years. The board approved updated per-meal rates reflecting a 3.6% CPI increase: breakfast $1.6729, lunch $2.4260, dinner $3.7110, snack $0.8599, and meal equivalent $2.4260. “The contract started on July 1, 2021 and expires on June 30, 2026,” Croyle said during the presentation.
Secretary Treva Potter moved to approve the amendment and Trustee Joyce Johnson seconded; the motion passed unopposed. The board’s statement and the contract language indicate the CPI adjustment covers management fee, food costs (excluding commodities), and chemical and paper costs, and does not include district employee labor or benefits.
