Levelland ISD updates board on roofing, HVAC, and safety-training progress

Superintendent Becky McCutchen and facilities staff updated trustees on multiple projects: roofing projects, EIFS wall repairs, HVAC work at the high school field house, sprinkler system repairs, and a planned bus retrofit to install a wheelchair lift.
Assistant Superintendent Rodney Caddell presented the Safety and Security Committee report. The committee — which includes local law enforcement, fire, emergency management, EMS, school resource officers, administrators, board members, parents and teachers — met April 3, 2025, reviewed intruder detection audit findings from Nov. 19, 2024, and reported that the district's Emergency Operations Plan (basic plan and cybersecurity annex) was submitted Oct. 22, 2024 and approved Feb. 19, 2025. The board received these reports and asked questions as recorded in the minutes.
