Council approved awarding the project with the alternate for a total budgeted award amount of $639,000 (6–0; 1 absent).
Salamowicz said staff confirmed the omission of a physical addendum on some bids was a non-disqualifying formality because all bidders had used the correct supplier specifications. He also noted the city plans to require backup generators for upgraded lift stations after a recent storm left 12 of 14 lift stations without power. On sources of clogging, Salamowicz said, "'Flushable' wipes are not actually flushable," identifying those wipes as a primary cause of pump clogging.
