Resident urges city to help elderly with street maintenance

He said the current requirements place burdens on residents who may lack mobility or resources and suggested the city could reassign some existing crews to assist in these tasks.
“Do we really want people who are on disability or retired due to health issues with limited hearing, limited sight, limited mobility, going on into the city streets to risk their safety in the streets,” Michael said. The mayor acknowledged the concern and suggested placing the item on a future meeting agenda for council consideration.
