Resident urges return of Columbus statue to public space, asks for Board of Ed meeting access

Bill Wilson, of 220 Woodbury Circle, asked the council to look into the whereabouts of a Columbus statue that has been missing for about five years and to restore it to public space consistent with the donor's intent. He said the statue has been housed at IACL and that current placement limits public access because, he said, women cannot be full members there.
Wilson also raised a separate access issue: parents have had difficulty finding Board of Education meetings online. He suggested the council or mayor contact the Board of Education to remind them that local cable channel 19 and Facebook are available ways for parents to view meetings, particularly during bad weather or when families cannot attend in person.
