Minong board opens sealed bids for town road maintenance projects

The Minong Town Board opened sealed bids for multiple road maintenance projects at a special meeting at Minong Town Hall on June 8, 2026. Chair Christine Holland verified legal posting, the board recorded attendance and then opened bid packages covering flex patching, wedging, double chipseal and crackseal for stretches of Bass Lake Road, Greenwood Road, Pokegama Road, Ostrom Road, Shell Creek and local streets such as Gilmore Court.
Bids varied by contractor and method. For example, Roy’s Sealcoating bid $4,500 for Bass Lake Road (Hwy 77 to Brancel) on a flex-patch line while Fahrner’s bid for that same flex-patch line was $7,581. T. Conaway later confirmed he told a Thunder Road representative that "the bids needed to be separate." The board did not award contracts at the meeting; after receiving the bids it adjourned at 4:54 p.m.
