Board approves placing question on general election about appointing township trustees

The Wright County Board approved a resolution (recorded as '20 26 - 26') to place a general election question asking whether township trustees in certain townships should be appointed rather than elected. Speaker 5 moved for approval and the board conducted a roll call in which members recorded ‘aye’ votes; the motion carried.

Speaker 5 explained that currently three townships require election of trustees while other townships use appointment; the resolution would make the approach uniform if voters so choose. Trustees carried the motion by roll call and no remonstrations were recorded in the meeting minutes.
