Planning Commission recommends approval for Mt. Saratoga Veterinary Clinic site plan

The Saratoga Springs Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of a site plan for the Mt. Saratoga Veterinary Clinic at 30 North Mt. Saratoga Boulevard during its April 30 meeting.
Senior Planner Kendal Black told commissioners the proposal was for one commercial building of 8,427 square feet on a 0.87-acre parcel, with 39 parking stalls provided where 34 are required. The proposed building height is 24 feet and, according to staff, the site plan complies with landscaping, architectural, lighting, site and parking requirements.
Applicant Daniel Harris said the clinic would operate during normal business hours and noted there were no current plans for a 24-hour facility, although "there may be a need for overnight observation for pets recovering after surgery." Commissioner Virginia Rae Mann asked about overnight care and Commissioner Scott A. Hill praised the building entrances and landscaping, saying the layout should reduce conflicts for drivers turning from Mt. Saratoga Drive onto Pony Express Parkway.
Commissioner Scott A. Hill moved to forward a recommendation for approval with the findings and conditions in the staff report; Commissioner Virginia Rae Mann seconded. The motion passed, 6-0 (Commissioner Rachel Sprosty Burns was absent).
Plans for a preliminary plat related to the site were noted as not yet on the agenda and will be scheduled for a future meeting, staff said.
