The Bandera City Council voted April 28 to select Knight Office Solutions as the city’s IT vendor under a two‑year contract after staff and a committee recommended the company following a series of support failures by the incumbent provider. Staff warned that the change will push the current fiscal year slightly over budget but said maintaining CJIS compliance for police and municipal court systems left the city little choice.
A staff member described repeated unreturned tickets, delayed responses and instances where officers could not download video footage. Councilors emphasized transition timing and costs. "They ignore us. They don't come," a staff member said describing the prior vendor's service problems. The motion to contract with Knight passed 5‑0; staff said the new vendor can likely transition services within about 30 days.
