Paris council approves consent agenda, accepts resignation and adopts two ordinances

The Paris City Council on July 27 unanimously approved its consent agenda, which included approval of the July 13, 2026 minutes, previously paid bills totaling $1,455.53, new bills of $312,687.76 and salaries of $191,830.88. Commissioner Griffin moved the consent agenda and Commissioner Branson seconded; all present voted aye.
The council also adopted a resolution accepting the resignation of Korey Hand and approved an amendment to a grant agreement between the State of Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and the City of Paris. The body adopted Ordinance No. 10, Series 2026, amending Chapter 111 on alcoholic beverage allocations and license counts, and Ordinance No. 11, Series 2026, which addresses short-term rental licensing and usage. Commissioner Griffin introduced each item and Commissioner Branson seconded; roll-call votes were recorded as all ayes, no nays.
