Lubbock ISD says 359 behavioral assessments entered in new Sentinel platform

Shane Anderson told the committee the district has implemented a new Sentinel platform for campuses to enter behavioral, threat and suicide assessments and reported that "the district has had a total of three hundred and fifty-nine assessments conducted this year so far." He described those cases as handled through a Safe and Supportive School Program (SSSP) team that can include administrators, counselors, behavioral and mental health specialists, special education staff, law enforcement and district threat assessment members.
Committee members heard that assessments are intended to identify, assess and intervene with individuals exhibiting threatening or harmful behaviors to reduce risk and support students. The committee did not direct immediate policy changes but discussed ongoing data-tracking and multidisciplinary response protocols.
