The Facilities Committee discussed a one-year maintenance contract to cover boilers at Bean Elementary, Roscoe Wilson and Lubbock High. Staff said the short term is intentional to ensure reliable service during the winter months while students are in the buildings and to allow the district flexibility in future contracting decisions.
Committee materials and staff noted the campuses currently lack a dedicated maintenance provider for boilers and stressed the operational risk: “if a boiler fails, the building will have no heat.” Staff also noted the vendor is already familiar with the newly installed $5.5 million system at Lubbock High, which staff said supports continuity of service as the system ages.
