Lubbock ISD staff briefed the Facilities Committee on plans to work with realtors on an umbrella listing agreement so the district will not need separate listing contracts for each surplus parcel. Staff identified priority candidates for sale including lots north of Roberts Elementary, a lot near Lubbock High, Overton, Hodges Elementary (depending on the heir outcome) and the Ag Farm near Coronado; staff said the umbrella listing will likely require board approval before use.
On the Ag Farm, staff told the committee any sale would need to be contingent on constructing a replacement baseball field. Staff provided an estimated construction cost range of "approximately $2.6 million to $4.2 million depending on the features selected," a figure that will help shape negotiations and sale conditions. The committee discussed timing and whether proceeds or bond funds would cover the replacement.
