Resident urges council to reinstate prior park fees, citing past revenues

He told council members that in fiscal 2023–24 the park revenue was around $40,000 with a profit of about $25,000, and that in fiscal 2024–25 revenue was about $33,000 with roughly $16,000 in profit.
"I think the city should return to the previous rates that were charged for people to visit the park, $10 for adults, $5 for county residents and children, and free for Bandera ISD students under, children under 6, military, and seniors," Dr. Mellon said. He framed the proposal as reasonable and comparable to fees charged at state and national parks, and said a $75 seasonal pass (down from a previously mentioned $100 pass) would be acceptable if the season is shortened.
Council members later considered his input during their discussion on reopening the park and on seasonal-pass pricing. The council ultimately voted to reopen the park and adopt the fee schedule described above.
