Commission backs rezone recommendation for Lighthouse Cove concept plan

The Planning Commission on March 26 forwarded a recommendation that City Council approve a rezone and concept plan for Lighthouse Cove, a multi-parcel project of about 109 acres at approximately 4200 South Schooner Drive owned by Perry Investments LLC. Planner II Sam Stout said the request would consolidate three existing zones to R1-10 consistent with the General Plan's Low Density Residential designation and that the concept plan proposes 197 lots with a church site (215 lots if the church is not constructed).
Planning Director Sarah Carroll told the Commission the proposal would yield an average density of 1.8 units per acre and would be a single-family product with larger lots and low density. Lynsi Neve of Perry Homes attended to answer questions from commissioners. Commissioner Colton Miles moved to forward a recommendation for approval; Commissioner NH Rather seconded and the motion passed 6-0.
