Planning board adopts 2026 calendar, defers fee changes and a rezone to Oct. 8

The Miami Planning, Zoning & Appeals Board voted unanimously, 8–0, to adopt the 2026 meeting calendar presented by staff after discussion about scheduling conflicts with the Code Enforcement Board. Staff said alternate Wednesdays and chamber availability constrained options, so the board kept the calendar dates as presented.
The board also agreed to defer agenda items 1–5 — fee increases and adjustments for planning and zoning departments — to the Oct. 8 meeting while staff continues discussions with the Builders Association of South Florida. Separately, rezone item 7 (1501 Northwest 37th Street; 1521 Northwest 37th Street; 1335 Northwest 37th Street) was deferred to Oct. 8 due to a noticing error so staff could correct public notice before consideration.
During the calendar discussion a staff member explained that requested date changes conflicted with the Code Enforcement Board and that staff would do its best to avoid scheduling heavy agendas on dates likely to produce quorum problems. A motion to approve the calendar carried by voice vote, 8–0.
