Moulton council administers oaths, selects Craig Hughes as Mayor Pro Tem
Summary
At its May 13 meeting, the Moulton City Council administered oaths to newly elected officials and selected Councilmember Craig Hughes as Mayor Pro Tem for May 2025–May 2026 in a unanimous vote.
Mayor Mark Zimmerman called the Moulton City Council meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the council proceeded with reorganization items following the oath administration. City Administrator LuAnn D. Rogers "administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected officials."
The council then selected a Mayor Pro Tem. "A motion was made by Councilmember Nieto with a second being made by Councilmember Moeller to select Councilmember Hughes to serve as Mayor Pro Tem for the period of May 2025 to May 2026," and the motion was approved (5-0). The selection covers the period May 2025 through May 2026.
The action completes the council's formal reorganization following the election and establishes the temporary presiding member to act when the mayor is absent. No dissenting votes or amendments were recorded.
