The Moulton City Council adopted Ordinance No. 03112025-01 on March 11, 2025, declaring unopposed candidates for mayor and city-council positions and cancelling the May 3, 2025 general election. The ordinance also terminates related joint election agreements and the lease agreement for election equipment with Lavaca County.
Councilmember Adam Nieto moved to approve the ordinance and Councilmember Roberta Mejias seconded; the motion carried 5-0. The ordinance repeals Ordinance No. 01142025-01 and directs staff to implement termination of the county agreements as described in the preamble of the measure.
