The Mount Pleasant ISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) met on May 6, 2026, at 5:30 PM to review a draft School Wellness Plan and solicit feedback from members. The meeting had been rescheduled from the prior week after several members said they could not attend; reminder notifications were sent two days and one day before the meeting.
Dillar, SHAC Council Chairman, told members the purpose of the meeting was "to share the draft School Wellness Plan with council members and gather feedback prior to submitting the plan to the Board of Trustees for consideration." Council members agreed to collect additional input between meetings. The SHAC intends to review that feedback and take a formal vote at its next scheduled meeting; if approved, the council will forward its recommendation to the Board of Trustees for consideration.
Attendance was limited: the minutes note that only one parent member was present, and that Kacey Kelly and Dustin Cook were also in attendance. The limited turnout and the prior rescheduling were recorded as context for postponing final action until the next meeting. No motions or votes on the wellness plan were taken during the May 6 session.
