The Mount Pleasant Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved an amended 2026–27 school calendar on April 27, 2026, moving a staff development day from Sept. 25 to Oct. 2 to coincide with the Titus County Fair. Board President Yvonne Hampton called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and noted the meeting was posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act.
Superintendent Judd Marshall told the board the change was necessary because the county fair shifted dates this year; the amended calendar was included in the board book and placed on the meeting agenda as an action item. The motion to adopt the calendar passed 6-0. The district said the change affects staff development scheduling but did not list any additional changes to student instructional days.
