Dr. Mays framed the purchase as discretionary: "Is it a is it a need? No. Is it a want? Yeah," he said, and several trustees urged the administration to rank wants and needs before spending. Trustee Paul moved to table the item pending further evaluation; the motion was seconded and carried with all trustees voting yes as read by the clerk. Staff will return with additional cost details and stakeholder input if the board chooses to resume consideration.
