Staff updated the council on the TxDOT/TA sidewalk AFA process: contract services was reviewing the advanced funding agreement and the consultant (WSP) could receive a work authorization in 2–3 months. Staff said scope definition and public input meetings will follow, and they projected the project timeline at roughly 6–8 months before construction would begin.
Council members asked that downtown Main Street businesses be included in outreach and emphasized timely town-hall scheduling when the consultant and scope are ready. Staff said letters from affected businesses had been received and the city will coordinate the public-input process when the AFA and consultant work authorization are in place.
