Board discussion on Aug. 10 covered several finance and facilities items, including a review of bus procurement, a facilities repair bill and a student-behavior software purchase.
Operations staff noted a recent Siemens invoice associated with a domestic waterline failure and described related ceiling and classroom repairs. Members discussed a 65‑passenger bus purchase for which the district will receive 80% reimbursement over eight years under the stated program; staff also noted that a regular education bus now costs roughly $153,000. "And the cost that as you saw, it's 153,000 for a regular education bus now," a staff member said during the meeting.
Staff also described a PBIS (positive behavior intervention and supports) rewards/behavior system that will cover about 1,200 students across four buildings, and the board discussed foundation options for donors who want a charitable deduction when contributing to anniversary or athletic efforts.
The board approved routine bills and transfers as part of the consent agenda and accepted procurement recommendations elsewhere on the agenda.
