The Marfa ISD Board of Trustees voted Sept. 15, 2025, to reorganize its officers and name trustee Philip Boyd as board president after an executive session. "Board Vice President Gonzales made the motion and Board Member Foster made a second to the motion to Approve the Board Officer Reorganization naming Philip Boyd as President," the meeting minutes state. The recorded roll call on the motion listed Foster, Fuentez, Gonzales, Nunez, Flores and Martinez as voting in favor and Boyd as abstaining. The reorganization followed a closed session held under Texas Government Code §§ 551.071 and 551.074 to consult with counsel and discuss personnel matters.
