Gaming Commission awards $2.37 million in FY26 grants; top nonprofit awards listed

Maria Kramer, director of the Office of Grant Management, presented the Gaming Commission annual report and the FY26 funding decisions, telling the commissioners that "In fiscal year 20 26, the Gaming Commission had available $2,367,846.22 for distribution to local charitable organizations and the volunteer fire and rescue association." She said revenues increased $20,437.33 compared with the prior fiscal year.
Carson Aron, senior grant manager, described the application process — 89 eligible applications representing 74 organizations — and said 58 applications received funding (38 full, 20 partial). Kramer noted that the largest awards were $100,000 to Washington County Community Action Council and Walnut Street Community Health Center and $75,000 to Reach of Washington County; awards were to be distributed after this meeting per the press release provided to commissioners.
