During the latter portion of the hearing, dozens of property owners requested additional time to finish permits, complete inspections or secure contractors. The city’s staff typically recommended 120 days for cases actively in inspection; the board granted many of those requests on a majority vote and granted 60 days in some circumstances where permits were inactive.
