Chair moved the proposal and Peterson made the motion to proceed; the committee approved it. As staff explained, any demolition costs that are later recovered through a sale would reduce the net expense to the county.
"I'll make a motion to approve the demolition of that house on 116 Washington Street for an estimated value of $15,000," the chair said during the motion. The committee discussed charging the work to nondepartmental tax-deed funds and confirmed that if the parcel later sells some or all of the cost could be recouped.
