City staff member Kyle opened the required public hearing on proposed compensation increases for specified city officers and explained the state statute requires council approval for manager-level positions. Kyle said one planned increase had been omitted for the streets and stormwater manager and staff requested that be added back retroactively to July 1.
The council opened public comment and heard none. Councilmember Teddy moved to close the public hearing and council later approved Resolution R31-2026. "Make a motion to approve resolution number R31Dash2026 stating the proposed compensation increase for the specific city officers," a council member stated during floor debate; the motion passed after a roll-call in which the council voted in the affirmative.
The resolution will be incorporated into the public record and implemented per staff direction; Kyle told the council staff seeks to ensure the increases align with state requirements and internal salary practices.
