The Village of Kincaid's board approved a policy change to require background checks for any new or future employees.
Paso introduced the proposal as a way to add protection in hiring and noted Chief Brown can administer checks at no cost. Trustee Dees moved to add background checks to the application form; Oller seconded and the motion passed by unanimous voice vote. "We all want to make sure we have quality employees… add background checks on the application from now on," Paso said.
Trustees instructed staff to update application materials and implement the check process; Chief Brown and staff will manage the in‑house checks and report back if any procedural or cost issues emerge.
