Calhoun Police cite awards, staffing shortfalls and Flock camera use

Captain Christy Nicholson, Calhoun Police Department, told the committee the department concluded its annual awards banquet and that Calhoun officers won awards at the Governor’s Challenge in Macon. She said the department received a letter from the Georgia State Patrol regarding a vehicle chase and that two officers will be recognized in March.
Nicholson reported one officer released and two in field training; the department still needs three officers. She said Flock cameras have helped the department apprehend suspects and that each camera costs about $3,000 per year to operate.
