Board approves consent agenda including curriculum changes and TASB update with exceptions

Trustees unanimously approved the consent agenda covering previous meeting minutes, financial/tax reports and amended tax rolls, secondary curriculum/course changes for 2026–27, a TASB 126 policy update with listed exceptions, an MOU with Arkansas State University College of Education and Behavioral Science, and vendor additions.
The Mesquite ISD Board of Trustees approved its consent agenda at the Dec. 8 regular meeting, accepting minutes from Nov. 10 (workshop and regular), the monthly financial and tax reports and amended tax rolls for 2024 and 2023.
The board also approved secondary curriculum and course changes for 2026–27 and accepted a TASB 126 policy update with the exception of several local policy items (BE, BED, DGBA, FNG, GF and EEP). Trustees approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Arkansas State University College of Education and Behavioral Science and authorized additions to vendors on demand through Nov. 15, 2025. The motion was made by Teia Collier and seconded by Elaine Hornsby and passed unanimously.
The minutes and reports become part of the district record; the TASB policy update was approved except for the listed local exceptions and will be reflected in district policy records.
