"He basically told us exactly what to say to him, which was to say we got this and then invite him to be scheduled on the next agenda, and then we can talk about it then. We don't offer any response to this in writing at all," Speaker 2 said. Members discussed sightlines and whether the viewpoint must be within the district. Speaker 4 stated the material is the principal issue: "We don't approve vinyl fences. Hard stop," indicating the board believes vinyl fencing is incompatible with its guidelines.
The board assigned homework: each member will review the owner's letter line by line, re-check code language about the public right of way and viewpoints, and gather updated photographs of the surrounding streets to present at the next public meeting. The owner will be invited to the next meeting so the board can consider any new information in public session.
