Public speaker urges county to invest in climate-resilient homes and biomass building supply research

"Will you consider our climate resilience plan to advocate public and private investment in climate resilient homes as a means to protect our neighbors?" McGlynn asked. He recommended working with county agricultural partners, Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Soil and Water Conservation District to grow and harvest biomass for residential building supplies and suggested faith-based and nonprofit partnerships to increase availability of climate-smart homes.
The commenter asked the Legislature to consider the ideas as part of long-term planning; no funding motion or vote on the proposal occurred during the Aug. 10 meeting.
