Medina Valley ISD board approves budget amendment, construction contracts and portable relocation; rejects appraisal-district acquisition

The Medina Valley Independent School District Board of Trustees met March 31, 2025, and approved a series of budget, construction and administrative items, while rejecting one resolution concerning property acquisition by the Medina Central Appraisal District.
The board unanimously approved a budget amendment (motion by Blane Nash, seconded by Matt Castiglione) and approved awards for RFCSP 2025-001 and RFCSP 2025-002 for the Middle School #3 and the High School Agricultural/JROTC projects to Bartlett Cocke and W.R. Griggs, respectively (motions by Blane Nash, seconded by Matt Castiglione). "All of the Board Members voted for and the Motion passed," the meeting minutes record.
The board also approved hiring Dodson House Moving LLC for relocation of existing portable buildings with a not-to-exceed amount of $175,536.31 (motion by Jason Bonney, seconded by Ben Juarez). The board approved interlocal election services agreements with Bexar County Elections and Medina County Elections and adopted election-order revisions tied to the May 3, 2025 election calendar. The board accepted certification of an unopposed candidate, Suzanne Lee, for Single Member District #4 and adopted an order canceling that trustee election.
One measure did not pass: a resolution approving acquisition of property by the Medina Central Appraisal District failed, with the minutes reporting two votes in favor and four against.
