The board then approved the appointment of specific personnel as Security Specialists authorized to carry a weapon; that motion was made by Matt Castiglione, seconded by Joe Biediger, and also passed unanimously.
The actions followed a closed-session discussion at 8:07 p.m. that, according to the meeting record, covered security deployment and the intruder detection audit. The board did not take action while in closed session; both personnel and authorization votes occurred after the meeting returned to open session.
